One last work postity

Hey guys. Well I've been thinking about this whole blog thing and I've decided not to post anymore work related stuff... Because I work freelance, sometimes it difficult to stop working on a project... It's so easy to get caught up in all the details and making things just so and before you know it, your putting in 13 hrs on something that realistically should've only taken five. As artists, I think we always want to grow and mature in our craft, pushing the bouneries and getting outside of our comfort zones and sometimes that can be difficult to do when your not calling all the shots. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely fortunate and very blessed to be able to do what I do everyday... but with that being said, I'm going to try and set aside a bit more time to do my own thing and hopefully(if turns out okay) that'll be the stuff that I post here. I'm not promising anything, but it's time to take that step and see where it leads...

So here's one last work post... I'm sure everybody's getting tired of seeing these black and white images, but hopefully we can all see a bit more diversity here in the future. Hope you guys like 'em anyway. Three cheers for continued blessings, pushing bounderies, and artistic growth! Hip hip... horray! Hip hip... horray... hippp... well you get the idea..

Wow, I just discovered your blog here via Heath McPherson! I'm floored by all of your talent, Miah! Some amazing work here.

And I feel you about focusing and finding the spare time to work on side projects here. It's good to share with others your work, but it'll be more beneficial for you to share with us your personal side work than your professional work. In fact, I can't wait to see some of your side work!

Great blog, great work, man! Keep it up!

Miah!

I really dig your work and I can see that you and Lambe really inspire one another.

The both of you have such great designs that really remind me of the classic Hanna Barbara greats.

Your work is alot of fun to look at and the fact that you have time to do so much is really humbling to me!

I can't wait to see what you do next.

Be blessed.

Hi, truthfully I find your b/w work delightful! I love your character designs, they have so much personality.
I do hope you find time to do more personal work. I know how it is having a day job and wishing I could just go crazy and be all creative and stuff. Anyway, nice!

Miah,
These "B/W" pieces arent as bad or lame as u think... Working monochromatically like this can deffinitley help your eye recognize values and contrast. Its nice to step away from color, which can "fool" the eye at times. Its good to greyscale colored images as a test to see what really reads and what doesnt.
Im also a fan of simplicity as well ;)
N-E-Way, these were great! And I cant wait to see some reeeeaaall
personal stuff. Theres no doubt that it'll rock. You'll love it more so that should in turn reflect in its awesomeness...
Hope alls well, hows the wife? and the little ones? Is number 3 here yet or what!?
Later Tater!
(Ya like what i did there? I used your line)

I always look forward to the posts - and I will still look forward to anything you put up here. Never a weak choice in posing or line.

A job is a job. We all do the best we can with the art we're being paid to do, but like you said, it may not always be as passionate as something you would do for yourself. Blah Blah Blah. I hear ya. To do my own stuff is the reason I became an artist in the first place.

Anyway, Keep it coming - whatever it is. I might miss the little kids though if I don't have that fix anymore ;)

Miah,
Whatever you put up, I'll be happy with.
But I completely agree with where you're coming from. The 'blog' is a good place to let loose and try new things, or things you're not so comfortable with. Good luck on spreading your wings, really look forward to seeing what happens!

Hey, Not sure if I've commented before, but I'm definitely up for seeing anything that you work on, man. I probably found your blog via Heath's or something, but it's been a while, so I'm one of those "lurkers" I guess.

Anyway, the work on the blog here is always top notch, really inspiring stuff. Can't wait to see some personal stuff from you.
