El Tigre Bg's
Hey Guys. Well I know it's been a long time since my last post, so if anyone still comes by to see if the spider webs and dust have gotten any thicker, well here's something new for ya. I know a while back I said that I was extremely privilaged to be doing some full time freelancin' for Nickelodeon's El Tigre. Well two weeks ago some of the bg work I've done aired on the show!! It was really exciting to see, so I figured I'd post up some of 'em for you to have a look at. All the design goodness (rough layout, color keys, boards, etc.) was done by Roman Laney and the other super talented members of the bg department in L.A. I just cleaned 'em up. If ya want to see the final bgs, you'll have to catch them on a re-run of the show, but trust me it'll be worth a second look.... the stuff they do with my clean ups is absolutely amazing!!! Thanks for lettimg me be a small part of the team guys.
Hope you guys like 'em.

Hope you guys like 'em.

Hey guys. I'm so sorry for taking forever and a day to respond and I'm sorry for not being able to get back to everyone idividually. Things are really hectic at the moment here in the 'ol treehouse in Bama. I just want to say thanks so much to everyone who stops by and leaves me a comment. Your encouraging words really help keep me going thru rough times like these. Sometime in the near future I hope to post more for those of you who are interested... until then take care and thanks again for all your support. Keep those pencils... er wacom pens... a blazin'!!!!- Miah

Amazing !
Especially the very subtle use of the gradients...
The first and the last ones are really great.
Just so there is no confusion and everyone gets their due... The images you see, were boarded by Dave Thomas ( the director of El Tigre), Brandon Kruse and Ricky Garduno. All of the drawings are mine and the color is either mine or Tod Polsons. The awesome cleanups are Jeremiahs. Once it makes it to TV, an additional pass has been done by Jerry DeJesus or Denise Chavez. Not to mention the inspiration we all get from Jorge Gutierrez and Sandra Equihua. It takes an army of people to make this show. Thanks to everyone who supports it.
Heya guys. Ken, Robin, and Grootfontein thanks for stoppin by and I'm glad you guys like the clean ups. The stuff on your blogs is amazing, so positive feedback means alot comin' from you guys. Robin the fam. says hi dude... keep the fuzeball alive! Roman, thanks for getting everyone the credit they deserve man and I'm sorry I couldn't do it myself... I unfortunately don't know all the folks that I'm working with, but I do know that they are unbelievably talented people and I'm glad that someone can pass along the specifics. It's truly an honor to be working with you guys on the show. Man the stuff you all come up with... AMAZING! Take care and like Roman said, thanks for your support of the show and for stoppin by. Later taters.
